Organic Content Standard (OCS)
The Organic Content Standard (OCS) was initiated by Textile Exchange (formerly known as Organic Exchange). Textile Exchange is an organization dedicated to organic agriculture. The OCS supports content claims for organic ingredients in non-food products. OCS verifies these claims through unannounced site visits and ingredient testing. The OCS is based on a voluntary commitment by companies who wish to support this initiative. The standard provides greater transparency and independent verification by certified auditors.
OCS Blended:
Products with this label contain at least 5% organic material blended with conventional or synthetic ingredients. The label shows the percentage of organic cotton and hemp in each of our garments. In addition to this certification, all other materials used in our garments are Oeko-Tex 100 certified. Since hemp grows like a weed without the use of pesticides or other harmful chemicals, we see no need to have our hemp certified. Our hemp comes from a large number of small farmers. To certify all the small farmers would create unnecessary costs without adding value for quality or the environment. We would have to add these costs to our prices. We have decided against this in order to continue to offer you eco-fair hemp.
