Dressed by Nature: The Properties of Hemp Clothing
Even during production, the differences compared to cotton are evident. For industrial cultivation, hemp requires significantly less land, water, and no pesticides. As a result, hemp clothing is free from harmful substances.
The eco-friendly and sustainable fabric also comes with other advantageous properties:
- Hemp clothing is durable, long-lasting, and resilient.
- It feels comfortable and is suitable for sensitive skin.
- Hemp clothing is temperature-regulating: it feels cool in summer and warm in winter.
- Hemp is breathable.
- The fibers are antibacterial and antimicrobial, preventing unpleasant odors.
- Hemp fibers provide excellent UV protection (up to 90%).
- Hemp textiles are very low-maintenance. Regular airing is often sufficient, saving you some washes.
- Moths and bugs are not attracted to hemp fabrics as they contain no protein.

this premise determines everything we do. Most of the items in our product range are vegan. For the few non-vegan items, we keep an eye on animal welfare. We only use mulesing-free wool and mostly use stone nut buttons instead of mother-of-pearl buttons.
